Banque Nationale
Light, skylight and prestige
The trading floor of the National Bank is located inside the prestigious and monumental Sun Life Building designed by architects Darling, Pearson and Cleveland.
The former banking hall that now serves as the trading floor is fitted with noble materials, including rose Tavernelle marble on the walls, syenite Corinthian colonnades with black Belgian marble bases and ornamental gold mouldings and bronze doors, railings and ceiling panels. The lighting subtly and elegantly enhances these features and the exceptional architectural setting.
From the central backlit glass ceiling emerges a bright light that reveals the aesthetics of the space and meets the needs of the people who work there. On either side of the hall, along the mezzanine, the lighting enhances the gilding on the coffer ceiling, easing the contrast with the light from the skylight to ensure the uniformity of the ceiling as a whole and highlight the opulent atmosphere. The goal was to enhance the heritage space and provide optimal lighting for tasks that involve concentration, observation and screen commands. “
