Montreal City Hall

Montreal City Hall is an iconic heritage building located in the heart of Montreal. Following a major modernization project, the building now features new spaces, exhibitions, and artworks while reaffirming its institutional and cultural role in the public eye.

Arium Design was commissioned to design the interior signage for City Hall, in collaboration with Beaupré Michaud et Associés, architects, using an approach that respects the historic architecture while meeting contemporary needs for orientation, legibility, and accessibility.

The result is a clear, consistent, and elegant wayfinding system that enhances the visitor experience while highlighting the heritage identity of Montreal City Hall.
The concept is based on noble materials, perfectly suited to the character of the space. The interplay of empty spaces creates a dialogue between the architecture and the signage, highlighting the richness of the materials and textures.
